Employee Spotlight: Pranav Pinjarla

Today, we are pleased to highlight Pranav Pinjarla, who joined SolBid as a Software Engineer and Machine Learning Intern and contributed to several AI-focused initiatives supporting SolBid’s clean energy mission.
Meet Pranav
Pranav worked closely with SolBid’s engineering team on machine learning initiatives related to rooftop analysis and solar design workflows. His work supported ongoing efforts to improve accuracy and efficiency in early-stage solar planning.
Background & Experience
Before joining SolBid, Pranav worked as a Programmer Analyst at Cognizant Technology Solutions in Hyderabad, India from 2022 to 2023. In that role, he handled SQL Server connection issues, resolved SQL code errors, and automated reporting workflows using PowerBI. He later pursued a Master’s degree in Data Analytics Engineering at Northeastern University from 2023 to 2025.
Discovering SolBid
Pranav learned about SolBid through MassCEC, after hearing about clean energy opportunities through a friend and exploring the organization’s network.
Why SolBid?
Pranav has long been interested in machine learning and was drawn to SolBid for its openness to learning, experimentation, and real-world application. He saw SolBid as a place where he could continue developing his technical skills while contributing to meaningful work in renewable energy.
What Makes the Experience Special
What Pranav appreciated most about working at SolBid was the team environment. He valued the collaborative culture, mentorship, and encouragement that allowed him to grow while taking on new challenges.
Mission-Driven Contributions
During his internship, Pranav supported machine learning efforts that help streamline solar planning and reduce complexity in early-stage project evaluation.
Highlight Project
One of Pranav’s favorite projects was Hyperion, which gave him the opportunity to deepen his understanding of machine learning concepts and apply them within a real-world clean energy context.
Maintaining Balance
To maintain balance, Pranav makes time for short breaks and regular conversations with his family, helping him stay focused and grounded.
Outside of Work
Outside of work, Pranav enjoys playing soccer and is a longtime fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been his favorite player since childhood.
