Exploring the Role at SolBid
Wilson joined SolBid as a Software Engineering/Developer/Machine Learning Intern. His early days were spent in training programs designed to build his skills in web development and system design. Through this training, he developed a project architecture with essential features like data processing, user authentication, and email functionality.
Wilson and a fellow intern also tackled a pivotal project involving rooftop satellite image analysis. Their work included categorizing images to identify key attributes, contributing valuable data for machine learning purposes.
Building on this foundation, Wilson worked on initiative solutions to optimize the models. Despite encountering challenges, he demonstrated resilience and adaptability, learning valuable lessons in advanced data workflows and model optimization.
A Wealth of Experience
Wilson brings a strong academic and professional background to SolBid. He holds an associate’s degree in computer science, a dual bachelor’s degree in computer science, and is currently pursuing an artificial intelligence degree at Northeastern University. He has also gained hands-on experience in IT and technology roles, further solidifying his expertise.

Wilson first learned about SolBid through MassCEC, where the company’s mission and internship opportunity caught his attention.

“The chance to gain experience in software engineering and machine learning, work part-time alongside my studies, and collaborate in a friendly, tech-focused environment drew me to SolBid,” Wilson explains.

Contributing to Renewable Energy

A Favorite Project
“My favorite project was working on model optimization with annotated data. Although I didn’t fully achieve my goal, I learned a great deal about improving systems and data processes,” says Wilson.
Balancing Work and Life
Wilson maintains focus by unplugging from distractions like video games and social media, except for specific occasions like gaming with his girlfriend or family movie nights. “It’s not always easy, but staying mindful of my priorities helps me stay balanced,” he reflects.

Outside of work, Wilson enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and exploring new advancements in technology.
