U.S. Oil Reserves Are Not the Answer

The U.S. has an estimated 30 billion barrels of proven oil reserves, and in 2015 used an average of 19.4 million barrels of oil per day, or 7 billion barrels per year.

If the U.S. was to invest in drilling these oil reserves down to the last drop, we would have only enough oil to last 4 years.

Simple math shows us that drilling for oil will not solve our energy dependency problem. All it will do is postpone the inevitable, while further damaging our environment.

To solve our energy dependency problem we need to look to renewable, clean energy sources such as solar. Solar energy has become the best low-cost energy production alternative to oil, coal and natural gas.

Unlike non-renewable fossil fuel energy sources, solar energy panels have a typical life span of 30 years and can produce clean energy, with zero emissions.
